Module 10

As this is the final module I look forward to leaving my comments, but also to going over the elements of the course and considering their application to classroom practices.

Blooms digital taxonomy are interesting and this document will be part of a staff day at my school in week 9. My experience with wikis and social networking sites has been by trial and error and interesting when engaging with students. I will continue to use both wetpaint and ning to develop resources and additional learning experiences with classes.

The interesting thing is that we can learn so much by looking at the work of others and the nature of wikis and social networking is that.

This course has opened up many new ideas and we need to be able to now apply them to the different settings we find ourselves in.

Module 9

Networks on the web have an unlimited range of possibilities, both professionally and personally.

I have used scootle some time ago, so it was good to back to this site with a fresh look and remember the ways and applications it has in the classroom.

I have never had anything to do with second life before and will look into this. However i have been busy putting together ideas, lesson work etc on wetpaint and ning social networking sites. This has been successful in some ways and frustrating in others. Students have mixed attitudes and this makes it testing for those who are not interested in embracing some of these learning models.

From this module I have just created a facebook site and was amazed at the people who are immediately linked to you. It is amazing to see how quickly links are made to people you know.

Module 8

I am a fan of RSS feeds and it makes so much sense to be able to check when information is new. I have been subscribing to a number of these including those of personal interest (recipes, etc) and also educational sites including smartboard technologies and other sites relevant to my teaching. I have set up a wetpaint site and ning social network for my students and will look at ways of applying this to those sites.

Google reader is another interesting tool to use. I will be looking into this in greater depth also.

Module 7

I have finally created my own delicious bookmarking page and added simon crook to my network.

This is good - and potentially very useful.

I have also noticed several comments posted on my blog which i think is also positive and encouraging. It is interesting and very handy being able to comment on other blogs as well. All I can say is that communication is certainly at our fingertips.
